Falken Tire Corp. announced two additions to its board of directors earlier today.
Richard Smallwood, president & chief operating officer, and Kazumichi Mandai, director of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Tire Trading Inc., are the new board members.
Smallwood was named president of Falken Tire Corp. (FTC) at the beginning of 2006. He replaced Hideo Honda, who was promoted to CEO and has since retired from FTC.
Mandai replaced Yasushi "Tank" Tanaka, now FTC's chairman and CEO, as director of Sumitomo Tire Trading Ltd.
Tanaka has been with Sumitomo since 1976; Smallwood joined FTC in 2000.
FTC, part of the Sumitomo Rubber Group, is based in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
