Goodyear Dealer Conference, Day Two: The mystery tire is the Eagle F1 All Season

Feb. 4, 2007

The secret is out: The new Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. tire line is the Eagle F1 All Season. The ultra-high performance tire features the company's Carbon Fiber technology.

Goodyear has teased the industry with the tire's identity since the beginning of the year. On the opening day of its "Drive '07" Dealer Conference in Kissimmee, Fla., the tire -- draped in cloth -- was showcased on the BMW Z4 convertible on the trade show floor. (See "Goodyear Dealer Conference, Day One: Get ready for four new consumer tires," Feb. 3.)

The tire is the latest in the Eagle F1 family, which is known for dry traction. The Eagle F1 GS-D3 added wet traction attributes to the mix. The new Eagle F1 All Season "completes the circle by offering traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads," says Bob Toth, marketing manager, auto tires.

The carbon fiber-reinforced inner and outer sidewalls help stiffin both sides of the tire to help it maintain contact with the road during hard turns.

The tire was introduced to conference attendees earlier today. It will be available in 22 sizes in July; 16 more sizes will follow shortly thereafter.

The Eagle F1 All Season will compete against the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS Pole Position, and Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S.
