Jan. 24, 2007

Phoenix, Ariz.-based Fletcher's Tire & Auto plans to add six stores this year, Jerry Fletcher, the dealership's president, has told moderntiredealer.com. Fletcher's Tire opened its 29th store earlier this week in Buckeye, Ariz., a Phoenix suburb.

The 7,000-square-foot Buckeye store has 10 bays.

On March 1, Fletcher's Tire will open another store in Goodyear, Ariz., another Phoenix suburb.

Each of the six stores that the company will open in 2007 represents "about a $2 million investment between land and buildings. Most will be 10-bay facilities."

Fletcher's Tire is the 31st largest independent tire store chain in the United States, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.

The company sells BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Dayton, Firestone and Michelin brand tires, among others.

It also operates two distribution centers: one in Phoenix and the other in Tucson, Ariz.
