Valley Tire signs with Michelin Retread Technologies

Charleroi, Pa.-based Valley Tire Co. Inc. has signed with Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. Valley Tire is the 35th largest retreader in the United States, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.

Valley Tire, which had been a Bandag Inc. franchisee, operates retread plants in Charleroi and Windber, Pa., plus one in Tonawanda, N.Y. The dealership is consolidating its Pennsylvania shops into a single plant in Charleroi and will keep its New York plant as is. (Valley Tire also has 14 commercial locations throughout western and central Pennsylvania and New York.)

"Michelin is pleased to have an excellent retreader such as Valley Tire join our expanding network of MRTI franchises," says Luc Minguet, COO of Michelin Americas Truck Tires. There are 71 MRTI plants in North America, according to Michelin.

Valley Tire produces 450 medium truck and 40 light truck retreads per day, according to MTD data.
