Dec. 11, 2013

November 2013 orders for North America Classes 5-7 net orders are expected at 18,000 units (±5%) and Class 8 orders are expected at 21,200 units (±5%), when actual data are released mid-month. The information comes from the latest update from Americas Commercial Trucking (ACT) Research.

“The ‘Great OK’ continued for Classes 5-8 commercial vehicle orders placed in November,” says Steve Tam, ACT’s vice president – Commercial Vehicle Sector.

Tam says that after posting the best order month since February 2008 in October, November’s Classes 5-7 vehicle preliminary orders exceeded trend and expectations.

“Compared to a year ago, medium-duty orders were up 26% in November and 11% YTD. Class 8 net orders, which had spiked to their highest level in nearly two years in October, retreated in November. November’s Class 8 order volume represents gains of 6% compared to last November and 13% YTD.”
