Brisa Bridgestone Sabancı Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Brisa), an affiliate company of Bridgestone Corp., announced it will invest $300 million to build a second passenger tire plant in Aksaray Province Organized Industrial Zone in Turkey.
Brisa says it will produce 4.2 million tires for passenger car and light commercial vehicles annually in the Aksaray plant. The company plans to start production at the beginning of 2018.
The Brisa plant in İzmit manufactures passenger car, light commercial vehicle, bus, truck, agricultural and off-the-road tires. Annual production capacity at the İzmit plant is 10 million tires.
Brisa, founded 25 years ago as a joint venture between Sabancı Holding and Japanese Bridgestone Corporation, has approximately 900 shops in Turkey.
