SEMA Show, Day Two: 4, count ’em, 4 new Hankook tires!

Nov. 6, 2013

Hankook Tire America Corp. has unveiled four new tires at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

“Hankook is growing, not only globally but here in the U.S.,” said Shawn Denlein, senior vice president of sales for Hankook. “To continue that growth, we are introducing these four new products to keep up that momentum in 2014.”

The Ventus V12 evo2, an ultra-high performance summer tire for passenger cars, consists of a sophisticated sidewall design and an advanced “Aqua Jet” tread pattern designed to offer drivers of sports cars, coupes and sedans with high speed stability, improved braking performance in wet and dry conditions, enhanced eco-performance, and better wear-resistance.

The Ventus V12 evo2 will be available to consumers during the first half of 2014 in 62 sizes and many popular 16-, 17-, 18-, 19-, 20- and 21-inch fitments.

The Ventus V2 concept2, a high performance all-season tire for passenger cars, features a high-density nylon reinforced belt design to aid in maintaining optimal tire contact pressure, and maximizing overall cornering and handling performance.

It also offers a 3D tread block design and solid center rib to provide optimal braking and handling performance, a noise control block designed into the shoulder tread to help minimize unwanted road noise, and a Visual Alignment Indicator siping system which offers drivers an easy way to check tire wear and vehicle alignment by comparing tire wear on both the inside and outside of the tire’s contact patch.

The Ventus V2 concept2 will be available to consumers during the first half of 2014 in 22 sizes and many popular 15-, 16-, 17-, and 18-inch fitments.

The Ventus S1 evo2 SUV, a premium ultra-high performance tire for SUVs and crossover vehicles, has been engineered with technology developed from Hankook Tire’s experience as the official tire supplier for the competitive European DTM racing series.

The Ventus S1 evo2 SUV offers strong braking in both wet and dry conditions, good cornering grip, and low rolling resistance for improved vehicle fuel efficiency. The Ventus S1 evo2 SUV will be available to consumers during the second half of 2014 in 13 sizes in many popular 19-, 20- and 21-inch fitments.

The Dynapro HP2, a high performance all-season tire for SUVs, crossover vehicles and light trucks, is designed with four-channel circumferential grooves to resist hydroplaning and improve wet condition performance. It also features radial sipes and grooves which provide improved handling in dry conditions by locking together for greater tread block stiffness as well as resistance to hydroplaning by providing efficient water evacuation from the tire’s contact patch.

A high stiffness center rib offers precise steering control and feedback, and silencer sipes prevent unwanted harmonic tread pattern sound. The Dynapro HP2 will be available to consumers during the second half of 2014 in 36 sizes in many popular 16-, 17-, 18-, 19- and 20-inch fitments.

“These four new tires coupled with our recent announcements to build a new manufacturing facility in Tennessee and multiple new OE agreements with major manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, and Honda clearly demonstrate our commitment to not only furthering our position as a leading premium tire brand but also to developing and delivering the safest, highest performing quality tires to our customers and consumers in the U.S. and around the world,” said Byeong Jin Lee, president of Hankook Tire America Corp.
