Team Falken expanded alliances in Ultra4 Racing pay off for entries

Oct. 1, 2013

Falken Tire continues to expand its involvement in the extreme sport of unlimited four-wheel drive competition known as Ultra4 Racing, earning tremendous results.

Team Falken’s newest alliance is with Seattle’s Jason Blanton, who raced his 966 car to a respectable fourth overall in the final race of the Ultra4 season, earning him the points needed to finish third overall in the Ultra4 National Championship, and second place honors in the Western Division Ultra4 Championship.

“We’re delighted to have Jason join us and perform so brilliantly in this final race,” stated Nestor Cabrera, Falken Tire’s Off Road Supervisor.  “Jason ran extremely well on Falken WildPeak A/T 37x12.50 R17 tires.  He’ll also represent Falken for the annual King of the Hammers crown in February 2014.”

A second Team Falken member, Rookie Bailey Cole, finished third in the Ultra4 Every Man Challenge Stock Class West Coast Championship.  One of the youngest drivers in the series, at only age 16, Cole competed in a specially prepped Toyota 4Runner on 35x12.50 R15 Falken WildPeak A/T tires.

“Overall, as we wrap up this year’s off-road program, we consider the season a respectable one for Team Falken teams,” Cabrera added.  “We took the Every Man Challenge Modified Class with Savvy Off Road at the 2013 King of the Hammers event, while Dave Cole won his class at the NORRA Mexican 1000 earlier this year.  Stir in Blanton and Bailey’s fine performances this past weekend and we’re proud of what we all have accomplished.”

“Falken Tire continues to generate positive results with its WildPeak line in both race events and every day performance, demonstrating the strength and longevity of the tire,” added Nick Fousekis, Falken Director of Motorsports Marketing and Consumer Events.  “Our customers recognize that durability and proven track record when they source tires for their own off-road vehicles as well SUVs and light trucks.”
