TBC adds on- and off-road traction lines

Oct. 1, 2013

TBC Wholesale Group (TBC) has added the Multi-Mile Wild Country TXR Extreme and the Trailcutter RTX to its Wild Country and Trailcutter SUV and light truck programs.

TBC says these lines target consumers seeking a value-priced high quality product option for recreational and vocational on- and off-road traction needs.

“We set out to provide a rugged and durable all-surface traction tire that truly performs at a major brand level yet sells at a value-oriented price,” says Jon Vance, senior director of consumer product marketing.

The TXR Extreme and Trailcutter RTX have construction and design elements to enhance all-surface performance and durability. These elements include a 10-ply carcass, cut, and chip resistance tread compounding, full-width heavy duty nylon wrap, an extra strength puncture resistance sidewall and multiple stone ejectors in the tread channels, according to the company.

The tire is also tuned to provide a smooth and comfortable on-highway ride, with tread elements aligned for maximum road contact and minimal noise.

“Traditionally the budget end of this market has been underserved, with limited product options other than those marketed at high price points and that are often hard to come by," says Vance.

"With these new lines we are looking to address the needs of those end users with a tire that’s easy on the wallet and equivalent in performance to the top tier brands both on and off the road.”

Both lines will be initially available in the fourth quarter of 2013 with 11 popular 16-inch to 18-inch LT sizes, covering a significant number of mid- and full-sized pickup and SUV applications. Two additional sizes will be added in early 2014.
