GM honors Hennessy as a supplier

Sept. 10, 2013

The Hennessy Industries Inc. BADA wheel weight manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, Ky., was recently named a recipient of the 2013 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award for the second year in a row.

“Creating quality products is possible only through hardworking and diligent employees,” says Kevin Keefe, Hennessy's vice president of marketing. “We’re very grateful to GM for recognizing our Bowling Green manufacturing facility and our staff with this prestigious award.”

General Motors Corp. launched its Supplier Quality Excellence Award in 2012 to recognize suppliers that have demonstrated the highest levels of quality performance on an annual basis.

“Suppliers who receive this award have met or exceeded a stringent set of quality performance criteria and have achieved the cross-functional support of the entire GM organization,” says Sheri Hickok, GM's executive director of global supplier quality.

The Bowling Green facility has supplied General Motors with BADA steel wheel weights for use in passenger vehicle manufacturing in North America and beyond since 2005.

Tim Presley, vice president of operations for the BADA facility, says the award was a much-welcomed validation of the high-quality work being done at the plant every day.

“Our goal is to produce the highest-quality product possible for our customers, and it’s an honor to be recognized by a company as respected as GM two years in a row,” he says.
