Yokohama to display new mining tires

Sept. 5, 2013

Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) will display two new mining tires, the Y20 and the Y67, at the Bluefield Coal Show Sept. 11-13 in Bluefield, W.V.

The new 36-ply heavy-duty Y20 39x15x20 is ideal for scoops and coal haulers needing heavy weight carrying capacity in a 39-inch tall tire, says Tim Easter, YTC director, OTR sales.

“It also allows for the replacement of a 15-inch rim with a heavy-duty 20-inch rim for better durability and extra room around the hub. This promotes cooler running brakes, and better access and torque on the lug bolts.” The Y20 was developed to take large shuttle cars down to lower levels, enabling access to deeper coal seams while still offering great carrying capacity.

Easter says the 36-ply tough-tread Y67 44x15x20 is engineered for large shuttle cars, providing greater carrying capacity without having to change rims. Its wide footprint delivers an improved ride and longer tire life.
