We've all heard the mantra about "synergy" from both sides when when one company buys another. Despite that, some changes in the way the company being acquired does business are inevitable.
What about the purchase of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. by Apollo Tyre Ltd.? The merger isn't expected to be finalized until at least October of this year, but are there changes afoot already?
Past acquisitions in the tire industry seemingly would indicate there will be changes. At least among Cooper's management, however, there are signs that a lot of them might not be going anywhere.
