First racing victories are often quickly followed by a second and Rebellion Racing Toyota team has become the latest example.
The team followed its Michelin Green X Challenge win at Long Beach with another in the American Le Mans Series Monterey.
Now in its first full season of ALMS competition and third season with Toyota, the European-based team is the reigning FIA World Endurance Championship independent team. Rebellion’s Lola B12/60 prototype coupe is driven by former F1 drivers Nick Heidfeld and Neel Jani and powered by an E10-fueled 3.4-liter V8 engine.
Held as a “race within the race” at every ALMS event, Michelin Green X Challenge awards are presented to the Prototype and GT entries delivering the best Clean, Fast and Efficient performance under a formula developed by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency and SAE International.
In the GT category, the Michelin Green X Challenge GT award went to the Florida-based Team West/Alex Job Racing Ferrari team. The victory was the eighth for Ferrari and the first for the team, for Yokohama and for drivers Townsend Bell and Bill Sweedler.
The West/Alex Job Racing team becomes the ninth GT team to claim Michelin Green X Challenge honors.
