April 30, 2013

As part of its upcoming milestone anniversary celebration, Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. will build a new head office building in Itami, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

Toyo will time the move from its headquarters in Osaka, Japan, to Itami on August 2015, the company's 70th anniversary. The new headquarters will be built next to Toyo's Tire Technical Center.

In addition, the planned 86,111-square-foot headquarters will be only about a 20-minute drive from the company's research and development center in Kawanishi.

"In order to reinforce the global growth of its strategic businesses and create more agile management through speedier decision making, Toyo Tires is currently focused on centralizing its management functions so as to promote closer coordination," says the company. "Having integrated Tokyo head office functions into Osaka in May 2012, the company plans to open a new R&D center in Kawanishi, Hyogo Prefecture, in November of this year.

The new management team inaugurated at the end of March 2013 has established a management theme of “boosting corporate strength and sustained, innovative, continuous growth.” The relocation of headquarters is positioned as a critical foundation for further solidifying the company’s corporate strength.
