Yokohama names Noji and Hamaya to key posts

April 2, 2013

Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) is in the middle of some major "corporate strategic management changes" that include the naming of a new CEO.

Effective May 1, Hikomitsu Noji will take over as CEO. He will replace Yasushi Tanaka, who took over as CEO and president in June 2011.

As CEO, Noji will assume the overall leadership of YTC in addition to being president and representative director of YTC's parent company, Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.

Tanaka will return to Yokohama Rubber as assistant to the president of the Tire Business Group. In his new capacity, he will oversee Yokohama Rubber’s global plans on new plant constructions as well as expansions on existing plants.

Takayuki Hamaya will oversee YTC’s day-to-day operations as chief operating officer. His additional responsibilities include the following:

* strategy development,

* corporate planning and

* driving YTC’s business performance.

“Yokohama is fully committed to investing resources in the North American marketplace,” said Tadanobu Nagumo, chairman and CEO of Yokohama Rubber. "We are confident that this vital market will be served most effectively with the key management structure we have put in place.”
