Autocross school stays tight with BFG tires

March 19, 2013

BFGoodrichtires have been named the official tire of the Evolution Performance Driving School. The autocross school is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Offering four levels of instruction and touting national caliber instructors, Evolution Performance Driving School trains participants from the beginning autocross driver to those competing for national championships.

"It was only natural for BFGoodrich to partner with Evolution with the launch of the new g-Force Rival and the growing popularity of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) street touring and road tire autocross classes,” says Peter Calhoun, BFGoodrich motorsports manager for Michelin North America Inc.

The agreement also names BFGoodrich as the presenting sponsor of Evolution’s involvement with the SCCA and the Tire Rack Match Tour events, which will be called the Evolution Super Shootout presented by BFGoodrich Tires.

The racing events pit 64 cars in an elimination bracket competition to be held at all eight Match Tour events.

"The partnership between BFGoodrich and the Evolution Performance Driving School brings together more than 50 years of experience in winning championships,” says Mike “Junior” Johnson, president of Evolution Performance Driving School.

Earlier this year, BFGoodrich Tires announced an extension of its partnership with SCCA as the “Official Street Tire of the SCCA” and as title sponsor of the BFGoodrich Tires Super Tour club racing events.
