Plaza Tire Service purchased five Ewers Tire and Service locations to bring its store count up to 56. The five new stores are located in mid-Missouri.

Plaza Tire Service already had three locations serving the mid-Missouri market in Rolla, Columbia and Fulton. The company says the purchase increases its Columbia store count from one to three stores in that city, adds two locations to serve the Jefferson City market, and adds one store in the Mexico market.

The company says customers will have access to an inventory that exceeds 100,000 tires and includes Bridgestone, Yokohama, Firestone, Dayton, Michelin, BFGoodrich, Falken, Nokian and Dick Cepek off-road tires.

In addition to tire sales and service, the new Plaza Tire Service stores will offer, battery, shock, strut, oil change, state inspection, tire rotation and balance, wheel alignment services and transmission, power steering and coolant flushes.

Plaza Tire Service operates 40 stores in Missouri, eight in southern Illinois, five in Kentucky, and three in northeast Arkansas.

The company is celebrating its 50-year anniversary throughout 2013. Plaza Tire Service is the 21st largest independent store chain in the United States, according to the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list.
