One million retreads and counting for Allied

Feb. 19, 2013

After just 15 years in operation, Allied Oil & Tire Co. has produced the one-millionth commercial truck tire retread at its Omaha, Neb., Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) plant.

“This milestone speaks volumes about our commitment to customer satisfaction and producing industry-leading retreads,” says plant manager Don Roberts.

Allied is the oldest, independently-owned MRT dealer in the U.S. The company’s Omaha, Neb., operation is the only hybrid plant producing both custom-mold (or remanufactured) and pre-mold retreads in the Midwest.

“Michelin has been an excellent partner of Allied Oil & Tire Co. with the highest quality retreads in the industry,” says Allied President Steve Phillips. “Their guidance, technology and support have moved Allied from a basic provider of a standard retread to one with the highest quality in the nation.”

According to the company, retreading truck tires saves the trucking industry $3 billion annually and is an environmentally friendly alternative to buying new tires. Allied produces all of the SmartWay verified retreads offered by Michelin.

Headquartered in Omaha, Allied has eight branches in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri and Kansas.

Allied is 35th on Modern Tire Dealer’s list of the 100 largest retreaders in the United States.
