Bauer Built continues its reorganization

Bauer Built Inc. has promoted two associates and hired one following the retirement of two long-time employees.

Replacing them are:

1. Mike Weber, formerly the store manager for the Bauer Built Tire Center in Waukesha, Wis., for more than eight years, was promoted in June 2012 to director of manufacturing. He replaces Jim Fenn, who retired as executive vice president of business development after 31 years with the company.

2. Jim Mitchell was promoted from store manager in St. Paul, Minn., to vice president of sales for the newly created Northwest Region overseeing Bauer Built Tire Centers in St. Paul and Blaine, Minn., and Fargo, N.D.

3. Paul Johnson recently joined Bauer Built’s team as vice president of marketing. He comes to the company from outside the industry, but has an extensive skill set from manufacturing and distribution industries. He replaces Larry Hildebrandt, a 27-year employee.

Fenn retired on Dec. 31, 2012.  He came to Bauer Built from the former Firestone Tire & Rubber Co.. He held many positions with the company, starting as a store manager at the Bauer Built Tire Center in Carroll, Iowa, in 1981. He also served as market manager, director of tire centers, executive vice president of tire sales and marketing, executive vice president of sales and manufacturing and executive vice president of marketing and logistics.

Hildebrandt retired as vice president of marketing on Feb. 1, 2013. He started with Bauer Built in 1985 as a market manager supervising five Bauer Built Tire Center locations.

Chairman and CEO Jerry Bauer relinquished the title of president to his son, Tad, on Jan. 1, 2013. For more information, check out "Bauer (a different one) will run Bauer Built."
