Jan. 24, 2013

Billy Eordekian, president of 1-800EveryRim.com, sure knows how to ring in the new year. His Happy New Year Luncheon was attended by more than 50 people.

The list of companies represented reads like a who's who of the California tire industry:

A to F: American Tire Distributors Inc., Bob's Tire Service, Capital Original Wheels, Commercial Tire, Daniels Tire Service, Dapper Tire, Discount Tire Centers, Exsell Marketing, Fairmont Tire, Freedom Tire Distributors.

G to R: Golden West Tire, Grand Prix Tire, Great Western Tire, Independent Tire Dealers Group LLC, Jewell Tire, King's Discount Tire, King's Tire Wholesale, La Canada Firestone, Leiniger & Short, LKQ Keystone, Mountain View Tire, Parts & People Magazine, Pep Boys, Performance Plus Tire, Pete's Road Service.

S to Z: SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association), Sunrise Auto Center, Tire Dealers Warehouse (TDW), Turbo Wholesale Tires Inc., Westcoast Tire, Wheel Consultants inc. ("The Ultimate Wheel & Tire Plus Sizing Guide") and Wholesale Tire Distributors/American Tire Depot.

Prior to the luncheon, Eordekian treated his guests to a tour of the company's warehouse in Pico Rivera, Calif.

"I have never seen so many wheels in one place," said Ed King, a California Tire Dealers Association (CTDA) board member. "Billy gave us a short demonstration of his customer oriented delivery process. 'Check, recheck, recheck and deliver' is important to guarantee customer satisfaction."

1-800EveryRim.com's Eordekian and Managers Jose Tornero and Chase Potter hosted the luncheon at The Dal Rae Restaurant.

Eordekian recognized a number of dealers at the event. He saluted the late Bruce Scher of Scher Tire Inc., a 17-store chain based in Riverside, Calif., and representatives from Daniels Tire Service Inc., a 15-store, Santa Fe Springs chain celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Past CTDA presidents were acknowledged, including Paul Bobzin, who is also a past president of the former NTDRA (National Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association), the forerunner of the Tire Industry Association.

Wayne Williams, president and founder of Exsell Marketing, introduced Joe Findeis, president of Wheel Consultants, who had been selected for the SEMA Wheel & Tire Council Hall of Fame. Zane Clark of SEMA made some brief comments as well.

CTDA board members King and Jay Goldberg were honored as being "most helpful" to Eordekian during his term as CTDA president. Another board member, Scott Highfill of Great Western Tire, talked about the active San Diego region of the CTDA.

Eordekian concluded by saying he would be happy to host another luncheon "if everyone would order just a few more OEM wheels!”
