Del-Nat launches Sentinel brand touring, UHP tires

Jan. 22, 2013

Del-Nat Tire Corp. has launched the Sentinel line of passenger and light truck tires that will be available exclusively from Del-Nat dealers.

Del-Nat’s Sentinel brand of opening price point products will be available in touring passenger tires (UN99) and ultra-high performance (UN33). The Sentinel AT and Sentinel HT will complete the lineup and will be available during the first quarter of 2013.

Last winter Del-Nat announced the addition of commercial truck tires to its exclusive Akuret line. The addition elevated the Akuret brand to a complete family of commercial products. (See Mayfield: Del-Nat offers Akuret truck tires.)

“Being able to now offer our own full line of competitively priced opening price point tires exclusively to Del-Nat members represents an important milestone for us,” says Jim Mayfield, Del-Nat president. “The unveiling of our Sentinel line emphatically underscores Del-Nat’s goal to help independent tire dealers remain independent.”

Founded in Memphis, Tenn., in 1989, Del-Nat Tire has a network of tire dealers and distributors who are stockholders in the company. Del-Nat reached the 80-stockholders mark in August, after welcoming six new members during the summer. The number of stockholders has grown about 25% during the last two years.

Del-Nat Tire, which has annual sales of more than $200 million, offers each stockholder protected territories under one or more of the Del-Nat brand names: Delta and National passenger, light-truck and SUV tires; Chaparral light truck lines; as well as AKURET commercial tires for farm, OTR, truck and trailer applications.
