MTD exclusive! Burggraf will add retail stores

Dec. 17, 2009

Quapaw, Okla-based Burggraf Tire plans to open at least two retail stores in 2010, Ron Thrasher, the dealership's executive vice president, recently told www.moderntiredealer.com.

The company currently has one retail store, an outlet in Atlanta, Texas, plus two distribution centers.

"In order to subsidize wholesale, we're opening some retail stores." The first store will probably be set up in Oklahoma, said Thrasher. It will operate under the name Eric's Affordable Tire.

Burggraf Tire officials would like to have at least 10 retail stores long-term, he added. The dealership, which is owned by the Eastern Shawnee Indian Tribe of Oklahoma, carries Goodyear, Cooper, Kelly, Titan, Roadmaster, and other brands.
