Cameron Steele wins 2nd consecutive SNORE Title on Yokohama

Dec. 17, 2009

Cameron Steele, a longtime Yokohama Tire
Corporation-sponsored off-road racer, captured his second consecutive
SNORE Unlimited Truck Class championship by winning the BMS Rage at the
River season finale, December 12-13 in Laughlin, Nevada.

Steele and his Desert Assassins teammate Josh Daniel both won their
respective classes and finished 1-2 overall among all racers competing
in the event.

Steele, driving the 800-horsepower Geiser Brothers Chevrolet truck
mounted with specially-engineered 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S R
tires, earned the SNORE Unlimited Truck season title again by taking the
race in 2:10.27, earning him first place in his class and second place
overall. Daniel, also on Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S R tires, won the
Unlimited Class in 2:01.41, good for first place overall.

Other Yokohama/Desert Assassin-sponsored drivers who won their classes
were Adam Ashcraft in Class 10 (2:16.02) and Pat Dailey in Class 5/1600
(2:13.45). Both raced on Yokohama Super Digger tires. Justin "Bean"
Smith, also riding on Super Diggers, secured a second-place in a very
competitive class 12 contest with a time of 2:20.50. That also earned
Smith the Class 12 season title.

"Nice way to end the season," said Steele, a two-time SCORE Person of
the Year and TV commentator. "I've got to keep up with my wife,"
referring to Yokohama-sponsored Heidi Steele, who recently won the Baja
1000 and her second consecutive SCORE championship.
