Bauer Built continues upgrade strategy

Dec. 15, 2009

Bauer Built Inc. has relocated and expanded of one of its oldest tire centers. Effective Dec. 14, 2009, the company moved its Mason City, Iowa, tire center from downtown Mason City to the west side of the city on Highway 18.

This modern, full-service tire facility will allow Bauer Built to better service its customers by expanding product and service offerings to include truck and bus alignment capabilities.

Bauer Built entered the Mason City market in 1979 with a start-up location after servicing the market through associate dealers for a number of years. In 1984, the company acquired the business known as J&L Tire from the former Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. The two operations were merged into one in 1996.

The move is the result of an ongoing effort by Bauer Built to upgrade and expand its existing facilities. In the last couple of years, similar upgrades, expansions, or relocations have been implemented by the company in Red Wing and Blaine, Minn.; Fargo, N.D.; Eau Claire, Wis.; and West Burlington, Iowa.

Bauer Built has serviced the Midwest for 65 years. It has 28 tire centers, nine wholesale distribution centers and seven MRT (Michelin Retread Technology) retread plants.
