The Sumitomo HTRZ III luxury touring passenger tire, which was unveiled last November, is now available in 46 sizes. "It's our 'maximum performance' tire," says Richard Purol, vice president of sales and marketing for Treadways Corp.
The W-rated HTRZ III goes "beyond the normal ultra-high performance range," notes Purol.
"We're targeting the luxury touring segment for first replacement and also the higher end of the tuner market."
The luxury touring segment "has become mainstream," says Purol. "You see so many tires that used to be considered niche and now they're broad market."
Treadways displayed the Sumitomo HTRZ III this past weekend at the annual Independent Tire Dealers Group LLC's meeting/trade show in Palm Desert, Calif.
