TBC Corp.-owned Big O Tires LLC has acquired 22 Big O franchise stores in the greater Orange County, Calif., area from CSB Partnership. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The stores will continue to operate under the Big O banner, say TBC officials.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to acquire a group of such high performing Big O stores in a very important market for us," says Kevin Kormondy, executive vice president and COO of Big O Tires LLC.
"Having been with the Big O organization for the past 40 years, it was a difficult decision to sell," says Chris Phillips, president of CSB Partnership, which is based in Capistrano Beach, Calif. "However, I felt the timing was perfect for me to make this move."
CSB was the 56th largest independent tire store chain in the U.S., according to the 2009 Modern Tire Dealer 100.
There are 481 company-owned and franchised Big O locations throughout the U.S.
