Rising steel prices force Solideal to adopt wheel surcharge

May 15, 2008

Solideal USA Inc. is implementing a steel surcharge on all its wheels and tire/wheel assemblies effective today, May 15.

According to Tim Phillips, director of marketing and business strategies, Solideal is taking this action in order to offset "the hyper-inflation of worldwide steel prices."

The surcharge will be evaluated monthly and is expected to begin at a rate of 22 cents per pound.

"As commodity prices are increasing dramatically, we have no choice but to make this move," says Cesar Clemente, CEO of Solideal USA's parent company, Solideal International SA.

The Solideal group of companies supports original equipment manufacturers, equipment dealers and tire dealers throughout the world. For more information on Solideal USA, visit www.solidealusa.com.
