SEMA SHOW, Day One: Vogue promises new products

Nov. 3, 2009

Vogue Tyre & Rubber Co. is working on a new sidewall design that will "hopefully be available this spring," Vogue President Greg Hathcock told www.moderntiredealer.com earlier today at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

That's just one new development in the pipeline for the private brand tire supplier, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary this year.

"We're looking at new speed ratings for our products. We have two V's right now; we're going to have a third" by spring 2010, "just to give us broader coverage with imports. That's where the market is going."

Import cars, particularly Japanese vehicles, will contine to be a growth area for Vogue, according to Hathcock. "It's a challenge for us to determine how many SKUs we go after because I have to sell them in other channels as well."

The 2009 SEMA Show runs through Friday, Nov. 6.
