JMK introduces Document Imaging Service option

Oct. 28, 2009

JMK Computerized Tire Dealer Information Systems is introducing a Web-based, integrated Document Imaging Service application for its Tire Dealer Management System software at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

The new option is designed to automatically index, scan and save all documents associated with the original sales order with a low  cost, in-house FAX/scanner. Although the information will be stored on JMK's secure, off-site Internet server, tire dealers can directly recall the information using any work station at any store location.

"With this feature, it is no longer necessary for tire dealer staff to file/store boxes of paper documents with reference sheets on work done," says Jim Krakower, director of system development.

"The system, using  bar code and optical character recognition technology, will automatically catalog the scanned image to eliminate the need for manual user entry for filing and to simplify retrieval operations."

Krakower says dealers who are direct with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. can use another special feature to automatically index/store as an image, credit memos received for national account, purchase/resale, and government support deliveries.
