Mitchell 1 updates OnDemand5 software

May 14, 2008

Mitchell 1 has made second quarter 2008 updates to its OnDemand5 Manager/ManagerPlus, Version 5.9 software to support a new integration to OnDemand5.com.

This updated functionality provides direct links from work orders to repair articles, technical service bulletins (TSBs), maintenance times and descriptions, fluid capacities, OEM parts and labor times.

Mitchell 1’s OnDemand5.com delivers comprehensive data for 1983-current domestic and import vehicle models. It includes the new OnDemand Live feature, where users view and share real-world tips. It also provides access to clear illustrations and full-color wiring diagrams, complete diagnostics, tech bulletins and recalls, scheduled maintenance with labor times, automatic monthly data updates and OEM parts and pricing.

“A major benefit of integrating to OnDemand5.com is that it now features the Google search engine,” says John Dwulet, senior product manager, Mitchell 1. “The Google search goes beyond article titles and headlines to find information within repair articles, TSBs and exclusive OnDemandLive Tips. Users will find what they’re looking for faster and easier than ever before.”

With the new Web reference integration, customers now have immediate access to TSBs and recalls by clicking on the toolbar.

There is also a new setting in the markup window (Setup/Standard Tables/Markup) to support maintenance and labor guide pricing. In addition to typical labor guide markups, the new OnDemand5.com integration supports marking up Web maintenance, Web labor, Nexpart and Activant labor times. The new feature also allows the user to mark-up the labor to the customer only, or the customer and the technician.

Integration to OnDemand5.com requires users to have Microsoft Dot Net Framework 2.0 installed; which is included with the update installation, the company notes.
