Acquisitions of independent tire dealerships will play a big part in Pep Boys' aggressive growth plan. At least that's what Modern Tire Dealer Senior Editor Mike Manges thinks.

The latest installment of Manges' Tire Talk with Mike blog, "Acquisition puts extra 'pep' in expansion plans," examines Pep Boys' recently announced acquisition of Florida Tire, a 10-store chain based in Orlando.

"Pep Boys plans to open 25 more tire and service centers during its 2009 fiscal year, well ahead of its 15-store target," he writes, with more outlets planned for 2010 and beyond. For more information, see Tire Talk with Mike, exclusively on www.moderntiredealer.com!
