20 Group lets dealers swap ideas, solutions

Virginia Beach, Va.-based Dealer Strategic Planning Inc. is launching a new concept designed to help tire dealers learn from each other by sharing best practices, marketing ideas and business management strategies.

The concept, called 20 Group, originated in the automotive retailing industry. It's "a proven... training model that brings dealers together in a structured setting to create a dynamic, peer-learning environment," say Dealer Strategic Planning officials.

Seventeen independent tire dealers from nine states and three Canadian provinces recently met at the 20 Group's first gathering.

"This is a great opportunity to help tire dealers come together and learn what works and what doesn't work," says Stu Zurcher, a spokesman for Dealer Strategic Planning.
