New Alliance plant in India builds first tires

Oct. 7, 2009

Israel-based specialty tiremaker Alliance Tire's new factory in India has produced its first tires. The plant will manufacture both bias and radial farm tires and small and mid-sized bias OTR tires.

"The newly built, one million-square-foot factory features state-of-the-art equipment and the latest machinery in the industry placed in an optimal layout to facilitate most efficient production levels," say Alliance Tire officials.

The plant's first tires were made during the factory's "pre-commisioning phase. Among them was the Alliance 328, a cornerstone of the company's agricultural flotation line."

The facility is located in Tirunelveli, India, and will be fully operational by the end of 2009. In the United States, Alliance operates under the Alliance Tire Co. (1992) USA Ltd. name and has an office in Denville, N.J.
