Vianor chain up to 12 locations, says Nokian

Aug. 26, 2009

Nokian Tyres Inc.'s Vianor company-owned retain tire chain is up to 12 stores, all of them in the New England area, which will continue to be the network's target area, according to Nokian officials.

"Our strategy is still the same," Nokian President Bernie Del Duca recently told www.moderntiredealer.com. Future Vianor stores will be placed "strictly in New England. We won't bring the concept to the rest of the U.S. We don't want to compete with our dealers."

All Vianor stores have been acquisitions, adds Del Duca.

Vianor is Nokian's company-owned retail chain in Europe, with more than 400 outlets throught Finland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Switzerland and several other countries. Nokian brought the Vianor format to the U.S. in 2007.
