Toyo rolls out entry-level performance tire

Aug. 3, 2009

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has introduced the Toyo Extensa HP, Toyo's first entry-level high performance passenger tire for the United States market. The tire is the second product in Toyo's Extensa line, which was launched earlier this year.

The tire is now available in 10 sizes, ranging from 16 inches to 20 inches in diameter, that will fit vehicles from manufacturers like Ford Motor Co., General Motors and others. Ten more sizes will be introduced this fall, including a 15-inch size.

"Many vehicle owners are surprised at replacement time when they discover their car is equipped with high performance tires," says Toyo Vice President of Marketing Steve Hutchinson. "Replacing those old tires can be costly and owners may be tempted to compromise quality in order to save money. Our solution is the Extensa HP, with exceptional wear life, all-season handling and high quality at a remarkably low price."

The Extensa HP includes Toyo's Silent Wall technology for quiet road operation, four wide circumferential grooves for wet traction, interlocking tread blocks that enhance stability, and other features, according to Toyo officials.
