On Aug. 1, 2009, Michelin North America Inc. will have replacement sizes available for the new Corvette C6 Z06.
The sizes in question, P275/35ZR18 87Y front and P325/30ZR19 94Y rear, are part of the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 ZP (zero pressure) line, which also has replacement sizes for the following:
Corvette C5: P245/45ZR17 95Y front, P275/40ZR18 99Y rear;
Corvette C6: P245/40ZR18 93Y front, P285/35ZR19 99Y rear;
For the Corvette ZR1, the sizes (P285/30ZR19 87Y front, P335/25ZR20 94Y rear) are for both the replacement and original equipment market segments. (See "Michelin earns OE fitment on 2009 Corvette ZR1, June 24, 2008.)
Michelin says its Pilot sport PS2 ZP, an ultra-high performance summer tire, offers all the performance characteristics of Pilot Sport PS2 tires, plus run-flat capability. "It also delivers comfort levels similar to those of standard Pilot Sport PS2 tires, while delivering improved cornering control, thanks to an advanced sidewall and variable contact patch technology."
