Modern Tire Dealer editors take home three IAMC medals

Modern Tire Dealer received three medals for editorial excellence from the 18th International Automotive Media Awards (IAMA) competition.

Medalists were announced at the annual IAMA presentation, held recently in Dearborn, Mich. The event was held in conjunction with the North America Concept Vehicle Awards.

Entered in the Magazine Writing division, MTD took home the following 2008 Foundation Award medallions for magazine writing:

* Gold, Investigative category, "2/32nds-inch: safe or not?,” Bob Ulrich.

* Gold, Editorial category, "How close is tire registration to becoming mandatory? Closer than you think," Bob Ulrich.

* Silver, Personality Profile category, “Guts. Gumption. God. ,” Lori Mavrigian.

Ken Gross, a writer, author, museum director and concours judge of some 37 years and a lifelong automotive enthusiast, received the 2008 IAMA for Lifetime Achievement.

The purpose of the International Automotive Media Awards is to "recognize and encourage excellence in all forms of automotive media."

The IAMA is part of the International Automotive Media Competition (IAMC). Both are administered, produced and owned by the International Society for VEHICLE Preservation.
