New tire labeling is more (fuel) efficient, but...

The government is proposing a new labeling system that will give consumers information on a tire's fuel efficiency.

But, as Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich says in his blog, "NHTSA proposal 'labels' the tire industry," there are flaws in the proposal.

The new tire label will contain information on not only its fuel efficiency rating, but also its tread wear and wet traction characteristics. How does this affect you, the independent tire dealer? What will you be forced -- yes, forced -- to do?
