Continental launches 'new' General tire Web site

Continental Tire North America Inc. has redesigned the General Web site, The site supports the revitalization of the General tire brand, in terms of both product and image.

Returning features of the site include a tire selector and dealer locator, tire registration, General Tire University and customer care links. New features include the following:

* a landing page with rotating banners which showcase recent ads from the General tire campaign.

* products divided into recognizable categories: Performance, Passenger, Light Truck, Original Equipment, Winter and Commercial. The product links are further identified by corresponding vehicle icons that remain accessible at the bottom of each product page throughout the site.

* a "Register to Win" link for a set of free tires.

* "The Garage," a link to downloadable wallpapers, information on becoming part of Team General through sponsorship, photo galleries, an email newsletter ("Outside the Lines”), promotional information and breaking news. This section is slated to include off-road driver bios, images and video in upcoming months.

"With its fresh look and interactivity geared toward a new audience, the site is designed to be simple and user-friendly, which will appeal to the masses," says Dana Zamalloa, public relations and communications manager for Continental's Passenger/Light Truck Division. "This new site will be updated weekly, and will continue to expand with exciting images and video."
