Commission to hold hearing on Chinese imports

May 28, 2009

The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has scheduled a hearing on Tuesday, June 2, to discuss the United Steelworkers' petition to apply a quota on the number of tire imports from China. The union filed the petition on April 29.

"Subjects related to both market disruption or threat thereof" potentially caused by the imports "and remedy may be addressed at the hearing," say ITC officials.

"Those parties wishing to present arguments on the issue of remedy may do so orally at the hearing or in their prehearing or posthearing briefs or other written submissions."
