Register now for STL tire tech seminars

May 20, 2009

The deadline is approaching to register for Standards Testing Laboratories' (STL) 2009 Tire Technology seminars at the company's Massillon, Ohio, headquarters on June 2-4 and October 13-15.

Classes, which are limited to 25 attendees, are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There are still a couple of spots open for the June event, STL reports.

A downloadable registration form is available on the company's Web site at www.stllabs.com. Interested parties can register online or call (800) 833-8547 to request a form.

The deadline to register for the October event is September 25.

The Tire Tech seminars provide an overview of tire industry terminology, technology and the raw materials involved in the making of a tire, as well as the design, applications, compounding, construction and manufacturing processes.

A brief history of tire industry milestones, a current market summary, tire stamping and identification requirements, legislative activity and a tour of all aspects of tire testing are also included during each two-and-a-half day educational program.

STL compiles a technical team of automotive and tire experts to provide a basic yet comprehensive overview of the technology involved in the tire business, the company says.  The seminars are designed to appeal to anyone directly or indirectly involved in the industry who needs a general understanding of tire design, construction and performance.

Registration is $975 and includes admission to the seminars, all materials, three luncheons, an evening banquet and refreshments throughout the course.  A block of rooms has been reserved at a local hotel.  Contact STL for details.  Discounts are available for three or more from one company registering together.
