Yokohama opens test center in Thailand

May 1, 2009

Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has opened its newest research and development facility in Rayong, Thailand.

The center -- which represents an investment of 2.5 billion yen -- began testing tires earlier this year. It includes a high-speed test track, plus a multi-purpose track that has been equipped with a wet course, as well as other features.

"These test courses are utilized to carry out running tests of passenger car, light truck, truck and bus tires manufactured at Yokohama Rubber Group plants in Japan, Asia and the United States," say Yokohama officials.
