MTD site to post exclusive private brand interviews in May

There may be fewer of them, but private brands still comprise a significant part of the domestic replacement passenger and light truck tire market. During the month of May, www.moderntiredealer.com will examine the private brand segment from the perspectives of private brand marketers, dealers and manufacturers.

Starting today, May 1, and running through the rest of the month, www.moderntiredealer will feature full-length interviews with executives representing the major players in the private brand tire segment, beginning with Phil Caris, vice president of sales and marketing, North America, for Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.

Cooper remains the largest domestic private brand tire manufacturer, supplying product to TBC Corp., Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. and Del-Nat Tire Corp., among others.

"We believe private brands will continue to be a meaningful component of the market," Caris says. "But there are a number of factors that are influencing and impacting the private brand sector."
