Tire Talk blog looks at air check mandate

Starting in 2010, all tire dealers in California will be required to check the pressure of each tire on every vehicle they service, thanks to a new rule from the California Environmental Protection Agency. MTD Senior Editor Mike Manges thinks that's a bad idea.

Manges explains why in the latest installment of his Tire Talk with Mike blog, "Whatever happened to personal responsibility?"

"I think tire dealers should check pressure levels on every vehicle they service," he writes. "What I don't like is a government agency forcing tire dealers to do so."
