Carl Renezeder jumps to General Tire

March 26, 2009

Champion short-course off-road racer Carl Renezeder has signed to race for Team General Tire for the new 2009 Lucas Oil American Off-Road Racing season.  Renezeder will campaign in the Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 classes beginning April 4-5 in Primm, Nev.

“We are so proud to add Carl Renezeder to Team General Tire,” said Tony Talbert, Light Truck Product Manager, General Tire.  “Having a driver of his caliber will take our team to the next level, and will give our new Grabber SC tire a solid foothold in short-course racing.”

Renezeder has a long and storied career in off-road racing, going back to 1994.  He has 76 Career Short Course Wins (65 in CORR, 10 in WSORR), including two Pro-4 Championships and two Pro-2 Championships; as well as a Class 1 win in the 1998 SCORE Baja 1000, and two podium finishes in the SCORE Baja 500.

“I’m very excited to become part of Team General Tire,” Renezeder said.  “I saw how well the General Grabber desert tires did last year in their first season, and I knew that the General short course tire would be the tire to beat this year.”

General Tire is again ‘unleashing the fury’ in off-road performance for 2009,
with the new Grabber Short Course tire the Grabber SC.  Designed in size 37x12.50R17 for Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 drivers. Designed with a tough, three-ply Duragen™-reinforced body construction to stand up to the rigors of off-road conditions, the Grabber also features a newly-developed competition-specific tread compound. In addition, the Grabber name and General Tire logo are prominently featured on the sidewall in red and white letters.
