Hoellen wins MATDA Industry Service Award

March 26, 2009

During its annual convention and trade show, the Mid-America Tire Dealers Association (MATDA) serving dealers in Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma gave its Industry Service Award to Steve Hoellen of T.O. Haas Tire of Lincoln, Neb.

Rob Pickrell with Cross Midwest Tire in Salina, Kan., nominated Hoellen for his work with the association and at his dealership.

He said, "George has spent his career in the tire business working in the Nebraska and Kansas areas. He has been a wonderful asset to the Mid-America Tire Dealers Association."

Pickrell says Hoellen's experience and knowledge has helped tire dealers in all of the states the MATDA represents. He has worked with MATDA and the Nebraska legislature to protect Nebraska tire dealers from unfair legislation as well as to protect the environment of the communities and states where his tire stores operate.

This year's award, the 10th given out by MATDA, was sponsored Champlin Tire Recycling Inc. of Concordia, Kan. It is awarded annually "to an individual who has distinguished himself or herself in the tire industry, either through years of unselfish dedication and service, or through a single exemplary act of service that has resulted in extraordinary benefits to the MATDA membership," reports the association.
