Mickey Thompson dominates sportsman at NHRA Arizona Nationals

Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels dominated the Sportsman class in the 2009 NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway, February 20-22, 2009. Gates opened at Firebird International Raceway at 7:30 am, with racing action starting at 8:00 am each day during the competition.  
 
Leading the string of winners and runners-up on Mickey Thompson tires was Dan Fletcher driving Rick Braun’s Comp Eliminator car. Fletcher earned his the fourth straight NHRA title at this event, making him the only racer to accomplish this goal! With this win, Fletcher is now fifth overall and tied for eighth place in total national event wins overall.
 
In the Super Stock class, Division One standout Mike Iacono drove the infamous pink Camaro past a full field of competitors to bring the coveted Wally home to Long Island, NY. Finally, Brad Burton, son of Division Five racer Scott Burton, took the Stock Eliminator win over fellow Team M/T member Doug Lambeck.  This makes Burton a two-time national event winner.
