Right to Repair Act gains three new sponsors

April 10, 2008

Three more legislators have added their support to the Motor Vehicle Owners’ Right to Repair Act (H.R. 2694), says Kathleen Schmatz, president and CEO of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).

Reps. Richard Neal (D-Mass.), Carol Shea (D-N.H.) and Ike Skelton (D-Mo.) have joined a growing list of the bill’s sponsors.

“We want to thank Reps. Neal, Shea and Skelton for supporting of this important piece of legislation,” says Schmatz. “The growing momentum of support for the Right to Repair Act demonstrates the commitment by many members of Congress to ensuring that their constituents, and not the large car companies, retain the choice of where to have their vehicle serviced and repaired.”
