Toyota selects EnTire for Sienna TPMS

Dec. 21, 2006

Toyota Motor Corp. has picked EnTire Solutions LLC to be the direct tire pressure monitoring system supplier for the 2007 Toyota Sienna.

EnTire Solutions is a joint venture company formed by TRW Automotive and Groupe Michelin.

The company launched its first TPMS as standard equipment on the 2004 Acura MDX. It also supplies Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Fiat vehicles with its systems.

EnTire Solutions’ direct TPMS employs a battery-powered pressure sensor mounted on the valve stem inside the wheel. The sensor communicates tire pressure and temperature information to a vehicle-mounted receiver via a radio signal.
