ITDG-Friend Tire marketing group exceeds initial expectations

The Independent Tire Dealers Group LLC's (ITDG) joint marketing program with Friend Tire's Nationwide Tire Dealer Group "is getting off to a faster start than we expected," says ITDG CEO and President Michael Cox. "Since this past October, we have signed three times as many dealers onto the program than we anticipated."

ITDG and Friend Tire formed the cooperative, the ITDG/NTD Marketing Group, this past August. The ITDG has 106 members representing 315 retail tire and service centers. The Nationwide Tire Dealers Program has more than 300 affiliate members who use Friend Tire as a distributor. "This basically takes the ITDG national," Cox said at the time.

The ITDG covers 11 western states, while the Nationwide Tire Dealers Program is active in the mid-south.

Members of the joint group have access to the ITDG's captive insurance program, The Independent Innovative Captive Insurance Co., which is having "another highly profitable year," according to Cox.
